New member from Miami
Hello members, my name is Gophat and I am from Miami Florida. For those of you who don't know, it is located in the most south eastern part of the USA and is known for its beaches and resorts.
I recently bought a 2002 Jaguar X-Type 2.5L MT for only $700 usd. The car was not drive-able because of the Shift lever being loose. The engine was recently replaced by Jaguar themselves for a used new one with only 26k miles and has documentation. The best part is the previous owner paid for it before I bought the car. The chassis has over 238k miles on it and the only problem cosmetically is the paint on the hood has no clear coat from sun damage and the passenger fender has a paint transfer mark. The car is in fair condition but for the price I couldn't complain. With the most beautiful body lines in the world, especially the rear, I had to have this car the minute I seen it. I never owned a Jaguar, but I had rented a few in the past just to "play" around. They handled the abuse well.
Overall this has been a decent journey with this car though I only have driven it a handful of times. The fuel pump recently went out and I am currently finishing a write-up to contribute to this forum on how to cut a access cover with MINIMAL time, effort, and precise measurements. I also have another write-up on the MT shift lever bushing that goes bad within the assembly. When it does, it is NOT available through Jaguar. They want you to purchase a whole new shift assembly.
I realize this car is very old by now but I am not intrigued enough by any of the modern cars on the market to empty the bank.

Welcome to the forum Gophat,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
I can see you've already found your way to the X-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/u...r-atlantic-66/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
