New Member, New Jaguar Owner
Hi everyone. About 1 month ago I purchsed my first Jaguar, 2004 XK8, white with beige interior and brown top. It has 60,000 miles. For years I have been very interested in Jaguars, but never looked into them closely until recently when I just plain became tired on my Miata, which was a chore to drive. I love driving the XK8, although my wife is indifferent to the car (she doesn't understand cars), and she hasn't even driven it yet. The day I made the deal to buy, I came home and ordered the hydraulic pressure regulator as mentioned by Gus, and installed it the day I drove the car home. I had the dealer install new front rotors/pads as part of the deal, and replace the tranmission fluid/filter/pan and put in the anti bark additive (which BTW they had to buy from another dealership). I then replaced the top latch hoses, for which I posted my experience already, thanking everyone for their postings, espessially Gus! Finally, I want to thank Rev Sam for his great videos. I used his experience and video to help me replace the front sway bar bushing, which really wasn't that hard, and well worth the effort (to keep my wife from asking that that thumping noise was). Again, THANKS to all of you for your posts, and valuable insight!
Welcome Steve!
I know you are going to love that Jag and so will your wife the first time she drives it!
You may not get it back.
I'm formerly from Central Florida, now living in Tennessee. I love St. Augustine. How long have you lived there?

We have been here in florida coming up on 5 years this fall. We both grew up in Massachusetts, but after several really tough winters, we decided to make our FL home permanent. Thank you for the welcome! I will tell you that already I am hooked on the car! It is absoloutly the most satisfying car I have ever driven. The dealership loaned me (free of charge) an XF until the brakes and tranny work was complete, and while I did like it, the XK8 just is a so beautiful, and has character...and gets attention.
They do get attention that's for sure. I had a 1997 XK8 for my first one and I totaled it. I couldn't wait to get another. The next one I went with an XKR because I liked the hood louvres and mesh grille. I'm sure had of known any of the mechanical differences I may have chosen it for that, but I don't. I'm a woman. It's all about style and comfort for me!
Hope you continue to be happy in Fla. We may move back. Still up in the air about it for now. If we do it will be somewhere on the east coast. We like Flagler Beach.
