After lusting after an F-Type coupe since I first saw one back in 2014 and spending the last two years reading reviews and classifieds I finally pulled the trigger on a new (leftover) 2018 R-Dynamic. I really wanted a white rear wheel drive car, and blew it on both counts. I ended up with an Ultra Blue AWD, and I could not be happier.
I had been watching this particular car for months on-line. The price had been fluctuating up and down. I was watching it because being a leftover 2018 the price was attractive. What was stopping me was the color. The pictures on the dealer web-site made the color look like the color of blue chalk. I just cold not bring myself to fork out the cash for that horrendous color. I figured that was why this particular car did not sell - the horrendous color.
Then the price really dropped. I decided to research the color in these forums to see what people were saying. Much to my surprise all the comments were extremely positive, with most commenting on how it really "pops". Then I saw a photo of it in the forum, and it did indeed "pop".
I quickly called the dealer and made an appointment to see the car. I drove seven hours to the dealer and absolutely loved the color when I saw it in person. I ended up making the deal and getting the car.
The car had been on the lot so long the dealer made it a CPO with a six year, 100K warranty. Thanks to this forum I asked for a seventh year of warranty and the dealer agreed. They did not even bat an eye over it. I also managed to get a new battery installed out of the deal.
Major options on the car are: pano roof, 770W stereo, premium leather interior, performance seats, power liftgate and configurable dynamic mode. Pics below.
Every other vehicle in your second picture is black, grey or white. The dealer must have been holding on to the Ultra Blue just for some relief from the monotony.
