new member on a quest for an XK8
Hi, I live in Boulder, Colorado and would really like to acquire a good XK8 convertible.
I am more than a little leery of buying a Jag, as I have some past experience with an MG-TF, Europa, and Mercedes coupe, and a couple of 60s era British motorcycles -- all of which were high maintainenance (and the case of the Mercedes, very expensive).
I am somewhat encouraged however after lurking through the XK8 sub-forum for the last few days that an XK8 may not eat me out of house and home plus actually prove to be reliable....
At any rate, I'm hoping to learn a lot prior to a purchase and using that knowledge to successfullly acquire a good example. (then I'll really need this forum ) When I was a child, my Dad had a 1950s era Mark V drop-head coupe and I've never forgotten how neat that car was !
I really appreciate all the members on this forum generously supplying their valuable insights and expertise. I know for a fact that without finding this forum, I would not be starting my XK8 quest.

Welcome to the forum Sitting Bull,
Sounds like you already know your way around here. If the 'HOW TO' in the XK8/XKR hasn't answered your questions, then post in that section. Members are always happy to share experience, advice and recommendations.
Enjoy the search. Hope you find a good one.

Sweet, another Coloradan; quite scarce in these parts. You can click the link in my signature to go to the local regional page. Also, there is a British car and motorcycle show coming up September 15th and 16th which looks to be a good time.
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome ! I'm really looking forward to learning about these cars and finding a good example to acquire. A special thanks for the news about when the local show is; I have been to the British Conclave over in Arvada a few years ago and will get over there again this year !
Thanks, Admin. for upgrading my status !
