Hi
I am new to posting to the forum, though I have found it a great resource in researching X308s, which resulted in me buying a 2000 XJR anthracite/charcoal, with just over 100K miles on it. Love the car! Have been working through some minor items but it is really great shape, previously owned by a well known classic car collector, with some maintenance records including new fuel pumps, engine mounts and tranny service. What I don't know is the version of chain tensioners so will pull the cam covers next weekend and have a peak.
My user name is used on other forums and shows my roots in VW and Porsches. I have a 2004 Porsche 996 Turbo and a 72 VW Karmann Ghia convertible. Also in the fleet is a 2013 Range Rover Sport SC, and an F250 pickup (everybody needs a pickup!), while my wife and daughter have MB SUVs. Just oil changes keeps me busy.
I live in Kirkland, just up the trail from the Chainline brewery, if anyone wants to meet for a cold one. I am thinking of taking the XJR to the Redmond Exotics opening day on April 7th. They are picky, but they will accept R versions of Jags. I have taken both my Turbo and my Ghia before. No one even noticed the Turbo given all of the rarer/newer Porsche versions there. But everyone loves the Ghia! Funny. So if you ever see the Jag (see photo) or a Saturn Yellow Ghia convertible, say Hi!
