Default New member from Switzerland

Greetings,

I am a new member from Switzerland, who has been reading into some threads here recently and decided to join now. This forum seems like a great source of information, and the overall tone here very friendly. Since English is not my native language, please excuse any misspellings. I used to live in San Diego, CA for a year (17 years ago, though...) and travelled the United States often during holidays in the last twenty years, so I'm still somewhat fluent

My father used to own a XK8, followed by an XKR and two early XFs. Always had a soft spot for beautiful Jaguars, and right now I'm thinking about selling one of my coupes for an F-Type Roadster. As a matter of fact, I'm going to view an F-Type R this afternoon. That's the main reason I started reading into the experiences of other drivers here.

Let's see if the F-Type bug bites

Best regards from Switzerland,

James

Welcome to the forums James,

Good to have you with us.

It sounds like you've already found your way to the F-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. You can also use the Europe Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/europe-42/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums and I hope the F-Type R viewing works out.

Graham

Thank you all for the nice welcome

I had a great test drive in a 2017 R AWD model yesterday, it's a beautifully spec'd example in Eiger grey with a red convertible top (I like that!!), you hardly ever see another top color than black here. However, one wheel is curbed, tires are a tad older than I'd like, there's a strong smell of "scented tree" in the car which would need my attention (non-smoker, but apparently restaurant owner), and for the mileage the price seems a bit too high. Will see if a deal can be struck. If not, I'll have to wait as there currently is no other pre-loved example I'd fancy. While I can absolutely understand why people chose the color they do, I personally would not like my F-Type to be either white or black, and it seems that most are exactly in either of those colors here at the moment.
