Hello All,
I've been tracking down some airbag problems with my XJ and came across so much good info here I thought I better join!
My first Jag was a 1991 4.0L Sovereign (XJ40). I hadn't originally intended to buy one but I'm glad I did. It wasn't until I owned one that I realised how special they were. It still surprises me how many people made a compliment in the garage when I was filling up (which is getting mighty expensive at the moment). I sold the XJ40 with over 200,000 miles on the clock and it was still running perfectly.
Current car is a 2006 3.0L XJ6 which is lovely to drive.
I've just bought the AutoEnginuity scanner with Jaguar add-on to help locate the airbag faults. I'll post some info soon as I had some difficulties which prevented retrieving the codes (now fixed).
Anyway, enough for now. Looking forward to some interesting discussions.
Julian.

As you guessed, it really does affect performance. MPG drops to around 27, even on a long run down the French autoroutes, and you can almost feel the extra wind resistance.
