Hi, I've got a 1986 xj6 series 3, I've had it for two years now. It's a lovely car but a bit of a dog.
One of the many problems with it is that all of the electric windows will stop working for no apparant reason (not to me anyway),only to start working a couple of days later.
Has anyone got any ideas?
Many Thanks
Geoff

Welcome to the forum,

Good to have you with us.
Head on over to the tech section for advice on the windows, sounds like a wiring fault.

If you haven't already done so you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

Hi Geoff, I have a 1986 XJ6 Series III as well that I am restoring. Mine is cobalt blue with a biscuit interior.

Welcome to the forum.

Good to see you.

Yeah, electrical systems on these cars can have their ups and downs.

You'll find a link to electrical diagrams for your car in the XJ6 FAQ.

My first Jag was a new 1984 series III Sovereign cobalt blue/biscuit. I look forward Mark's restoration pictures.
Son Paul in pix is now 32.

As it is intermittent, I'm sure you 'just' have a loose/corroded connection.
Easy to fix - sometimes hard to find.
As has been said the circuit diagram will give you something to do.
