Hello,
My wife and I just bought my daughter her first car... a 2003 X type. It has 140,000 miles, but was a Florida car previously so NO RUST! Really hard to find a good car, but this one seems to be really solid. Great price too. I am hoping that this will be a reliable ride for her, and with the safety features, I feel good about putting my 16 year old baby in it. I have done some maintenance on the car already and diagnosed some issues using the forum. Looks like there a a lot of people with great advise in this forum. Nothing like having a computer "manual" of things to try. Thanks and I hope I can give some advise also soon.

Welcome to the forum Ed,
Good choice of car and also good to hear you've found useful advice here to help you with maintenance.
This probably means you already know the way to the tech section but if not, follow this link X-Type - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X-Type section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You may also like to visit the US Mid West Region section by following this link Mid West US - IL IN IA MI MN MO OH WI - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forum.

Just used the forum to change the fuel filter. Pretty straight forward... just nice to see pictures before you even start. This forum is cool!
