Default New member - XJS V12 in UK

Hi there,

So, I'm a new member. I'm Australian born but now living in London. In Feb 2020 I bought a lovely low mileage and very late build series 2 XJS V12 (Feb 1991). It just ticked over 40,000 miles after I bought it.

The XJS is my second Jag, I had a 1988 XJ40 about 20 years ago and I loved that car, I still think XJ40s are an underrated classic. By coincidence both my jags are Solent Blue with grey interior. I do love that colour combo but it really wasn't planned that way!

I have wanted an XJS ever since watching the Australian Touring Car James Hardie 1000 Race at Bathurst in 1985, where Tom Walkinshaw and his XJS team wiped out the local competition in a tour de force for Jaguar.

Anyway I'll be back on soon with some questions, all that sitting around did not do my XJS any good! Here are a few photos.

Thanks, Al

Welcome to the forums 2oldjags,

I also had an XJ40 in Solent Blue. A real favourite Jaguar colour for me. Great car though the UK climate was really savage on them. You're lucky to find an XJS looking so good but with only 40K miles in thirty years, it hasn't seen much road or weather and must have had a pampered life.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xjs-x27-32/ to the XJS forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.
