Hello.
Just (2 weeks ago) bought a 2002 XK8 Convertible with 114,000 miles and all the usual problems. The dash being lit like a Christmas tree was a major factor in reducing the price.
I consider myself a keen amateur mechanic. I have been messing with old British cars since I was a teenager in the UK and have had a string of Triumph's, MGB's, Austin-Healey, Rover and lately Lotus. About 2 years ago I installed a 2-post lift in my garage to help with servicing my Lotus Esprit.
I have always liked the XK8 series, with it's definite nod to the XK-E styling and roadsters have always piqued my interest.
There is not much I will not tackle, with the current exception of alignment/tracking as I do not have the equipment to do that work.
I am hoping that the obvious wealth of expertise and experience on this forum will help me in making my Jaguar ownership a more rewarding and less expensive experience. Despite the large stable, I operate on a restricted budget and all the vehicles were acquired at low cost with major issues.
