Default New Owner From Kent

Hallo all. Done a couple of posts and missed this section ! Ooops!

Up until now Ive always been a 4X4 nut and have had mainly Pajeros, and have been thinking about XJ8's for ages but never got one. Recently i was looking at a nice specimen i saw in a local supermarket car park and my wife said the magic words. "now that's lovely" and two days later i had sold all remnants of anything 4X4 related and found this on ebay.

So last Sunday i embarked upon a trip across to west London and looked it over, had a drive and i was sold. It came with only 90K on the clock, a full main dealer stamped book up until this year and a huge box of receipts.

There are only 2 blemishes on the body which are a couple of small areas where the lacquer has peeled, but a mobile smart repair guy can take care of that, and a small bit of corrosion on the underside, on the seam just behind the off side wheel arch, under the drivers side floor pan. Ive already ordered a few cans of Dynax UB from Bilthamber, in preparation to get under-sealing. I will also get the rust done.

Its been a long time since i had that "feel good" feeling about a car, but thankfully that has been restored this this. Plus i had always wanted a V8, and was surprised at just how efficient they are.

I just wish i had bought one of these years ago. I also wasn't expecting to find any decent forums. Don't really know why, but found this one. Sorted. Feels very good to be here.

Many thanks again for the welcomes peeps. Really liking this forum.

I did post this in another section but while im here, anyone here an audio expert. If you see my other post you'll see that Ive got a prob with my head unit. The previous owner had the car parked up for about a month and the battery went flat. Since then the head unit wont even turn on. The nav drive and the cd changer in the boot load and unload correctly, and i have replaced every fuse with new ones and nothing. From the Google searches Ive done this seems to be a fairly common problem. Lack of music is driving me nuts! Apologies if i shouldn't be posting this in this section but am now starting to tear my hair out!

Again, many thanks for all the welcomes
Phil
