New and owner of my very first Jaguar.
Hello,
I just wanted to briefly introduce myself and my newly bought Jag'!
I think my profile will be kind of unusual here but eh. I'm a 24yo french guy in the Los Angeles area since sept. 2015. I did a certificate at UCLA, and after graduating I began working under a temporary work permit.
This brought the decision of which car to get on a student budget, and I had to chose very quickly because I was burning through what was left of my savings with rentals.
On top of that, I have a very emotional and sensible approach when it comes to my cars and the good ol' cheap, easy-to-maintain, reliable Camry wasn't an option to me.
To put it in Clarkson's words: "Looking good is more important than looking where you're going."
An then I saw this 2005 3.0 AWD X-type, it wasn't really clean inside and outside but the mechanical condition was excellent and it had been very well serviced. And it was dirt cheap. So a few dollars and hours of elbow grease later, here I am, proudly driving with my kitty cat on the hood.
It's not the most noble Jaguar I could buy but hey, I'm only 24 and hopefully it's a step toward my dreamed E-type.
I look forward to read you all on this amazing forum!

Congratulations on your 'new' Jaguar!
The X-type has an Excellent reputation in the US. In fact, a large proportion of Jaguars on the road here are X-types.
If it's sound mechanically, you can fix all that appearance stuff with time, effort and advice from our Very active X-type section. Someone will be along shortly to direct you there.

Welcome to the forum JS.Partre,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
I can see you've already found your way to the X-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the US Western Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/western-us-ak-ca-nv-ut-hi-wa-id-38/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
