My name is Nick and I am the proud owner of an 86 XJ6. I came upon it at a local auto shop that specializes in european cars. A man had it sitting in his garage for 5 years and brought it to them to get it started, so they did a cursory look and told him that the tanks were rusted, the lines were shot, and the injectors needed to be redone, to the tune of $5k. He said he didn’t care about it that much and said if someone wanted to pay the $150 they charged to look at it, they could have it. So… I got it for $150and my mechanic got it running for $900.
I tried briefly to sell it and realized that I love it and want it for myself.
It’s beautiful car with 93k miles and all of the style and class expected. It runs quite well, but has every little thing that could possibly deteriorate after siting for an extended period. I’ve used this forum for some things already, but will certainly need your continued help and am happy to share my growing understanding with the group! Happy to be here and to be a fellow Jag owner!
