New Registration
Greetings and Citations to all:
While we (Butcn & Charlotte) have been a "reader" of Jaguar forums for a long time, we have just registered as "members" and wish to say "Hello" to all and offer our thanks for all the tips over the years.
In early 1999, we purchased our first 1998 XJ8 L VDP and lover it up for the first 150k + trouble free miles until the storm surge of a hurricane took our baby away. It was pristine and worse than losing a most loved pet.
Recently, my lady found it's twin (not quite as pristine) online and bought it immediately; had it shipped to us; inspected it and decided we needed to join Jaguar forums if we were going to restore such a true piece of art to it's original status.
As a retired previously owned auto dealer, I call the car "sound" and well within $ value, with expected minor cosmetic needs hare and there and definitely a full paint eventually. Of course the ABS & Stability Control Fail lights are not a surprise and will be the first item requiring attention and I suspect the pump module? We'll see.
That's about it for now and "Thanks" for letting us in the room. BnC

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
