Default New and slightly concerned XJ-S owner

Hi everyone, went to a charity auction over the weekend and for whatever reason my girlfriend ended up buying Chris Evans' old XJ-S (For non UK users wiki link)
Anyway it should arrive in the next day or two and looks to be in decent nick to my untrained eye. Very excited as I've always loved the XJ-S but I'm nervous too as we don't have a huge amount of money to spend on it if needed!
Hopefully I'll get to enjoy it for a while, she's already decided she's too scared to drive it!

Welcome Andersh,
The X-J S is a Lovely car and you'll get plenty of the right advice here! You'll probably spend hours wondering what it's really like until you see it in the flesh so to speak so Good luck on that one, I wouldn't worry too much until that happens and I hope you get a nice surprise!! Pssst, I wouldn't go too heavy on the moans and groans if somethng is up though, if your Good Lady is anything like mine, she'll take insult and run when she goes quiet..... Seriously though.... Keep us posted and we'd love to see pics too, everyone here admires a good one and I am sure you'll do okay, as I said the XJS is a Beaut! I'll be watching this space.... Regards and have fun. Stu

Thanks for the welcome! We did get to play with it for 15 mins or so, so I know it does go forwards and backwards - haven't tried left and right yet! All switches and gadgets we tried appeared to work, only obvious issue was a couple of surface rust bubbles which looked manageable. Will post pics once it's been MOT'd and delivered any day now.
