Default New special cat: Dailmler 6 1995 LWB

Hi all,
happy to join you with a Daimler 6 LWB 1995 from France.
The car just crossed my destiny with a lot of question because it hasn't run for years.
I falled in love of the design in 1998 when I saw the at the Paris motor show.
First thing as I bought the car in auction: no keys.
So the locksmith failed in programming transponder and i'm stuck to open the trunk to change the batterry (which size in centimeters or inches?)
I don't kbnow how many liters I have in the trunk, but I guess the best before starting is to darin it and clean it.
I know that we can open the trunk with a dril but for me it's the last chance solution. I failed in connecting the +, under the bonnet and switching the boot button inside the car.

Daimler 6 LWB 1995

I'd like to be very gentle with the car before srting again and change gear box oil too (Dexron3? wich quantity?). Beacuse of corona the cr is not closed so my enquiries stayed a bit virtual until situation improves and we could mver easiier.

Enjoy cats and freedom !

Welcome to the forums brett1930,

Great car and the Daimler LWB is a rare version. You should be able to open the luggage compartment by powering the + and earth terminals under the bonnet with a good battery.

I can see you have already posted in both X300 and X308 forums. X300 is the correct one for your 1995 Daimler. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the Europe Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/europe-42/ to find other members in your region.

I've added vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. If you want to change these, go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Thanks Graham !

"You should be able to open the luggage compartment by powering the + and earth terminals under the bonnet with a good battery." actually I powered the 2 + succesivly and operation failed. There is one thing I did't check yet: I don't remember if valet button was on or off.

Mine is a X300 with X308 bumpers.

Does the lock in the luggage compartment lid work when the battery is connected under the bonnet?

This should work with the black headed (master) key even if valet mode was set.

Just looking at a price list from 28th June 1995.
The retail price was £52,950.00.
The delivery charge was £450.00 + 17.5% tax.
This is without extra added options.
John.

Thanks John. Mine was bought in France. Idon't know if sun roof was an option? But there is an option it doesn't get: it's a 5 seats and 4 seats was an option because on the back you had only two seats and elictrical seats and many buttons in the middle.

Do you have any idea about which 72 A Varta fits in the trunk? (reference, size)

Thanks

Hi brett1930,
I have just had a look in the boot / trunk and I have a Yuasa 019 100Ah 900A
I needed a battery on the quick and a local salvage yard said this would start anything it does.
I will go back to the old price list later and look at the other bits.
John

A quick check tells me: 35.3 X 19 X 17.5 CMs
Weight 23.4 kg.
You can drill a hole in the licence plate area and get the lid open.
Many X300s have this mod.
John.
