Hi There

Just another newbie. In 2003 I bought a brand new 3.0 Black x-type sport with all the trimmings, Tan leather. voice commander, Stereo upgrade, black tinted windows, heated seats, Heated windscreen, automatic wipers, auto headlights black stained wood dash, Rear park.

After 12 months I had front park and the internat phone fitted. (an actual handset that goes in the centre Console arm rest). Well it was the naughties, ie no bluetooth. Had just about everything, except sunroof and TV. LOL. Loved that car, was so beautiful. Have to find some photos. This is roughly the spec that became sport premium.

After 3 years in 2006. I wanted to run something cheaper and I lost oodels of cash on it. ie cost about £32,000 to buy and sold for £10,000. (Paintwork was not good as I ha put it through an automatic carwash a lot. Eek. Never do it guys )

So I traded it in 2006 and bought a new 2.2d Sovereign estate in Silver, standard except I had fitted 18" Proteus wheels and the full Jaguar body kit. I also changed the roof rails to Silver. Still have the black ones unused if anyone wants them, make me an offer. I also changed the Dash CD to Cassette, as I still use them and the 6 disk changer in the boot is enough.

I wanted Jaguar to retro fit the Front parking, but its not possible as the wiring loom has been cheapened and its only added when specified as a factory option. She still looks beautiful as I still have it.

In general she has behaved well over the last 7.5 years. Love the wheels but wish I hadn't gone for them, always getting knocked (40 profile) and the tyres are so expensive. I am also on my 6th front chin spoiler, darn kerbs. and the sides skirts have been painted due to tight carpark kerbs. Arrrggggg. :-) I now reverse into carpark spaces. haha.

I have just tuned 90,000 miles and so far have had new front disks (and several pads) and a new rear drivers wheel bearing, oh and a bonnet cable. thats about it. except I have had numerous problems with light fuses, but I will post again about that. Anything you want to know, just ask

Forgot to mention, I say new, but it was actually 2 months old with 2500 miles on it, as an ex factory managers car. With the upgrades on it, cost me £28,000. So about the same as a new sovereign. Happy motoring
