Default New X-Type owner :-)

Hello all!

This isn't my first post as I made a post a couple of months ago with regard to whether I should buy a used 2005 X-Type or a used 2005 9-3SS. Well, obviously since I'm posting here, I decided to go with the X-Type.

So as I said, it is a X-Type, 2005, 80,000 km (50,000 miles or so). It is the base model and not the sport one. Engine is 3.0L, automatic transmission. The exterior is ebony black and the interior is tan.

It did not come with its original wheels, but instead came with winter rims, Jag wheel covers, and the recommended Pirelli P6 winter tires (that are pretty much done and need replacement). I've ordered from WheelsNext a set of Ruff Racing mags that I hope will look good on my car, with a set of Kuhmo Ecsta ASX, and also a set Dunlop Winter Sport 3D for next winter.

As for myself, I'm 31, live in Montreal, Canada, and this is my first car. I bought the X-Type about a month ago and I have driven the car for about 600 km so far. I don't drive the car to work (I work downtown, too much of a pain to drive there and parking is too expensive) so this should be a good car for me as I'm only expecting some 6,000 or 7,000 km per year. So far I've had no problem other than what I think is the whiney prop shaft that most people are complaining about. But I think I will just live with it for now. The AWD system has been great in the snow so far despite worn out tires.

I took a few pictures but they are absolutely terrible as my camera has a crappy flash and the car is black, and the car is a little dirty because that's the way it is here during winter. It's impossible to keep a car clean.

Piccies :

New wheels that I have yet to receive :

I have bought some stuff to wash and wax the car so I will update the pictures as soon as I can get better ones.

Nice one Sevren
I've edited your post to show your pics.....check out how to in the Jag help n suggestion centre.
All the best
Jim

Flash looks like racing pinstripes! I know, just looks that way. When you get the car out in the spring and get her cleaned up, definitely post up some pics...make a photo album on here, whatever you like.

Welcome from TX!

Welcome, Sev'! I had to laugh (cry?) when I saw the pics as mine is usually full of snow and salt residue. That's why I haven't posted any pics yet. Hoping that we've finally turned the corner on winter and I can finally clean her up good and keep her that way more than 5 minutes. Hope you enjoy your X as much as I enjoy mine.
