New XF owner
Have had my 2015 XF Portfolio for about a week. Was a "demo" which means the dealer took the MSRP hit to where I could *afford* it.
I started off driving VW Scirocco's (remember them?) a 1977 and 1982. Then marriage, kids, homes, etc and we became Toyota/Honda/Mazda drivers. Mostly Tacoma trucks for me (3 of them).
Now the kids are grown and gone and we own a 2016 Acura RDX and the 2015 Jaguar. I truly feel safer in these vehicles given the blindspot, lane assist, collision mitigation, bright headlights, etc. vs. all the kids flying down the road with their smartphones in their face.
The car has navigation, which I'll never use since my smartphone WAZE is so much better and points out cops, accidents, traffic. Still trying to find a good location to mount the phone as the windshield mount it ugly.
As an engineer, I'd love to figure out how to project my Android phone onto the Nav screen. Honda is already doing that with Android Auto. I built an "anti" texting and driving application years ago (see TextBot for Android) which would read texts out loud and let you reply without typing. That too is now found on a lot of cars.
Enjoy driving guys! It won't be long until all the cars are self driving.
