New XJ8 Owner Here
Hello Jag Enthusiasts,
I just bought a new (to me) 2004 XJ8 yesterday. This has been my dream car since they were first introduced a decade ago. The car seems perfect in every way (cosmetically and mechanically) except for the infamous "Air Suspension Fault" message about 5 minutes after every startup. I am not that upset at this point, since I knew this was a common problem. I plan on going to go to a spring conversion at some point in the near future.
Observations:
On my initial 300 mile drive home, the car drove flawlessly at 75+ mph.
The car has 120k miles, but is just as tight as I remember the first XJ8 I test drove a decade ago.
I cannot find one single gizmo that doesn't work.
The leather is the best I've ever seen in a 10 year old car.
My wife and friends think I'm crazy to buy a Jaguar in a town that doesn't have a "real" Jaguar specialist mechanic. They just don't understand that there are some things so appealing as to be worth taking a calculated risk.
I have read this forum (as a guest) for several years. You all have had a large part in my willingness to 'take the leap' to buy such a complicated, risky, but entirely delightful piece of machinery.

Hi Wayne,
Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your beautiful car. There are plenty of threads about air suspension faults in the X350 forum. Feel free to post there about your suspension issues and some of the knowledgeable owners will be happy to help.
Cheers,
Don
