Default New XK8 owner in South Carolina

Hello from a new XK8 owner in South Carolina! I've loved the XK8 since its debut in '96 & decided last month I'd waited long enough. I found my '99 convertible in Charlotte, NC for sale by a longtime private owner (8 years), but to get it, I had to sell my pristine '97 Mazda Miata/MX-5. The kicker? I actually had money left over after buying the Jag. She's beautiful in spindrift white w. charcoal leather, and already has the updated tensioner kit & water pump. I decided to switch out the optional chrome revolvers for standard-finish rims, so found a perfect set out of TX on e-bay & sold the chromes locally. Very little I had to do to make her roadworthy: a new set of Continental Extreme Contacts, new Bilsteins & front shock mounts, alternator idler pulley, fuel filter, coolant flush, oil & filter and she's good to go. Looking forward to many happy miles at the wheel of my all-time favorite Jag & being on the forum.

On U.S. Hwy 129, Tennessee's infamous Tail of the Dragon. The new Bilsteins & Continentals were a treat on these curves.

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

The XK8 looks superb in white. We never see white Jaguars here in the UK!

Follow this link XK8 / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XK8/XKR forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Welcome to the club. Beautiful car from which you should derive many miles and years of pleasure. 5 years and a 100,000 miles later, my 2002 XKR still puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it. In many respects I like it as much (if not more) than my 2010 XKR coupe.

Enjoy!
