Default New XKR Coupe owner

G'day,

I have just joined the site to hopefully learn some things and share the passion. I have always wanted an Jaguar XKR since I first saw one in the late 90's. Now my dream is coming true - sort of.

I am in the process of importing a 2003 XKR Coupe from the UK to Australia.
Unfortunately the import rules require that it has been owned for 12 months before it is eligible to be imported.

My XKR is a Black 2003 Coupe with ivory leather, 20" Montreal Alloys, Brembo Brakes, SatNav & Premium Sound.

So my wait begins. Maybe it will be my Christmas present for 2011.

Until then I will have to live vicariously through you guys.

Welcome, it will be a bit agonizing but I think it will be worth the wait
This sounds very strange to me too . So, Aus should be commonwealth but why on earth a car that will be bought from UK is required to wait 12 months .
Anyway, you will have learnt some cool tips til you get your ride

Welcome to the forum champ, the wait will be tough, but you will be able to smile when you think about all the money you have saved.

We have similar rules over here, but of course we have the possibility to pay a high tax to get around them.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

I can see from the posts in the XK8/XKR forums that everyone just loves their XK's. Definitely learning stuff already.

Thanks again.

welcome champir, the car sounds beautiful! be careful with those rims...one curb encounter and you'll be crying in your cereal daily.
