Hello to all , i have just acquired a 2004 jaguar XK* convertible pewter color with off white seats and interior. It has pretty high mileage but was a great price and one owner car. I expected a few issues with a car of that age but so far nothing too serious. Had ABS light keep coming on an doff , so took all the sensors off the wheels and cleaned them , that fixed that issue. Stabilizer link on one side at the front was just hanging there not connected at the base. Temporary fix and i have got two new stabilizers to install easy job. Air filter box half teh clips were missing so when i went to put a new filter in could not close it properly, got one on line for about $130 fixed that . Cup holder was broken and annoying dont like stuff that doesn't work so got a new part on line $50 and fixed that too. Antena was bent and almost broken but still worked , so bot a new replacement mast and installed that yesterday quick fix. Changed engine oil and put in a genuine Jag filter. One issue i cant figure out is how to get the instrument lights to illuminate in daytime its hard tio see the speedo. All lights work when its dark. Tried the dimmer and covering the sensor on the mirror but no luck. Seems all bulbs are ok when lit at night and light switch is turned on. So dont think its a bulb issue.
I am originally form Uk and have been in US area for 35 years, i had a 1959 Mk 2 2.4 Jag in Uk which i restored best car i ever owned wish i still had it. Would love an F type but out of my price range. Saw this XK8 5 weeks ago and eventually made an offer and got it . Love it so far.

Welcome to the forums Alan,

Good to have you with us. The bridge must make it feel just like being home in the UK.

I know you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Southwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-southwest-37/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.
