Question Newbie with 2014 XF

Good moring here in the UK its 7:43am and its too warm, its t Shirt weather at 18 degrees, and surprisingly not raining, or windy.
My car is poorly and I found some faults in the secret menu (Engineers test mode) and I'm looking for a error code list to explain them as my car goes into the workshop and I'd like to know whats going on before it goes in.

Welcome to the forums Braithy31,

Jaguar used to publish the DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) lists separately which made it easy to lookup the error decodes but for some years now they have been putting them in the relevant section of the WorkShop Manual. The answer to your question is therefore that there is no list as such. I advise avoiding 'generic' decodes online as these are often very misleading with possible causes for Jaguar codes. Some members have obtained the Workshop Manual from Jaguar TOPIx and made these available as PDF's.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xf-xfr-x250-44/ to the X250 forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Thanks for that, the advice is welcomed, I managed to get it into my local garage at Hurst Cross, Ashton-u-Lyne, they seem to have someone with experience, cleared up my problem, it was a blown seal caused by a loose bolt, 54 quid, not bad, so it wasn't frost on my mustache!!!

Going to read all the guidance you sent, bought my XF during the pandemic, just done 3k since I got it, the guys told me such things regular go on these motors, we'll just have to take their work and crack on.

Once again thanks..
Graham

Frame that one. Not often you'll see a bill under three figures.

Hello,
I;m sorry your Jag is doing poorly. I do agree it's good to have some idea what's wrong first, they might even listen to you when you try to explain it to them. Or not, but at least, as you say, you'll have some sort of clue.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
