Howdy, ya'll. Just joined today, been thinking about it for a while. Ran into a very strange problem on my X-type, which apparently isn't all that strange. I will post or ask more about it over on the X-type forum.
I found my little X-type Jag in a search for a BMW. I had previously bought a nice 2002 BMW 325i at TexasDirectAuto in Houston. Got a really good deal on a low mileage car, but wound up selling it off to my son when he graduated from college and moved to the San Fran area to go to work for Google.
My wife and I were looking for a similar deal, and came across this low mileage 2003 X-type at TexasCarsDirect in Dallas. (They have a lot of Jags there!) I always have wanted a Jag and this one was very affordable and in great shape. Plus its colors, black paint with tan leather, were very much the same as my long gone BMW.
I do as much work on cars as I can myself, but with modern cars becoming as complex as they are, that is becoming less and less. Thankfully, the cars are also better and better.
I am a mechanical engineer by profession, but I confess I would be of more help with a General Electric gas turbine generator than a Jaguar. But nevertheless, glad to be here.
