Bought new - 3rd Jaguar owned...before the financial crisis that makes it impossible to take the car to Jaguar for repairs.

Suddenly two months ago the driver door stopped opening with the key or from the inside. ( won't open period) The other doors work but I'm stumped for a way to get the door open, and stopped driving it because it could be hazardous having quickly to climb over the console to exit the car.

Does anyone have an idea for a possible solution?

We'll have to help you get that fixed. Apart from the possible danger, it's just not dignified to be seen climbing over the centre console!

Yes....my wife would stand at the back door and laugh as I crawled into the car every morning

 

Good news --- a friend was able to take the door panel off without the door being opened and discovered that the solenoid was stuck and would not open the door latch, preventing the door from opening at all.

All is well --- and if it happens to you keep in mind that a contortionist can get the lower door panel off enough to work on the problem.
