Newbie to forum
Hi All.
My name is Roddy. I own a Jaguar XF 2008, one of the first XFs with the oldest engine (Range Rover) I believe.
I've sorted various problems along the way but love the car and always will.
I bought my XF after my S type finally gave up the ghost. I retro fitted the S type with a new Sat Nav and Alpine Amp, so I got to know
it pretty well. I try where possible to do my own repairs like EGR valves. That's my limit however. I know some code faults.
My XF has given me some problems with two Egr valves sticking with carbon. I have, along with a trained mechanic, changed the timing belt as she has almost got to the 100,000 mile stage in life and I didn't want to take the chance of running her to 120,000. I have also upgraded my Alpine speakers with Pioneer Tweeters and Fosgate bass and mid range. With some insulation inside the doors and surrounding areas I have created the most beautiful rich bass and midrange sounds. The sound proofing helps with road noise too.
I have a problem which is intermittent just now but may get worse and I don't really know what's causing it. It's a new one to me.
However, that's for a later date. My reason today was to introduce myself.
Thanks for reading my post.
