Smile Newbie from Ireland

Hi,

Just fulfilled a life-long ambition and got my first Jaguar - a 2008 X-Type 2.2D Sovereign - which I imported from the UK. I have to say that it has not disappointed me - good performance, good mileage, and PLUSH!

One little fly in the ointment is that the battery died just before I got to the ferry at Holyhead in the early hours of the morning. A very nice taxi driver took me to the all night Tesco to buy jump leads and then back to the car and gave me a jump start.

Unfortunately, I didn't know that a jump start can knock out the entertainment system so my journeys are a bit silent for the moment. I will look for help on this in the appropriate forum.

Great to find this forum and keep up the good work.

Woo hoo! Another Irishman! We need more on here to start swinging the balance. Welcome aboard and happy motoring. The radio code should be easy enough to get, though you might have to ring a UK dealer. I didn't have a code for my radio after a battery disconnect and after a phone call to the Jaguar dealership in Galway, they gave it to me in 2 minutes, free gratis!
