Default Newbie X-type

Hi

Just acquired a 2001 X-type SE 2.5 Auto.
Has some faults that need rectifying so will be here quite a bit.

Not ever had many cars but include 2.8 straight 6 Opel Monza, Skoda Superb, Octavia Vrs, Vauxhall (Opel) Omega 2.5V6 amongst others.
With the Omega used to constant preventative maintenence (cambelt etc) so I don't plan on the Jaguar being any worse.

Although in Limp mode with Geabox fault it is drivable in 4th to about 70mph and loving it already.
Maybe needs a bit of Viagra in the tank?

Welcome to the forum aviaction,

Good to have you here with us at Jaguar forums. With Limp Home mode, getting the codes read to see exactly what is going on is the first step in troubleshooting.

Follow Steve's link to the X-Type forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the UK Region forum by following this link UK - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in this country.

Enjoy the forums.
