Default Newbie - with XF 3.0 S on order!

Hi guys,
Just joined the forum as I've ordered a new 3.0 diesel S for delivery end May. Indigo Blue with Ivory interior.

Having test-driven the Merc E-class and new BMW 5 series (didn't even bother with the Audi A6), it's encouraging to see that Jaguar are building a truly exciting and viable alternative. It's the only car of the 4 with any soul or passion, but my fingers are crossed that Ford helped resolve the reliability issues before selling on to Tata.

I'm based south of England - early 40's, with a couple of motorbikes to be used when the Jag needs a rest.

Looking forward to contributing to the forum in due-course!

Hang loose,
Greg

Welcome to the forums! And the motorbikes are...???

I've been a big fan of the early Triumphs and Nortons. Owned a few Triumphs in my day

Thanks guys. The bikes are:

- a 2008 Triumph Sprint ST 1050. Great for long haul trips with the wife (think South of France, Italy, Switzerland etc) as well as the occasional commute; and

- a 2000 BMW 650 GS Dakar. I took this bike on a 40,000 mile road-trip from Argentina to Alaska back in 2005/06 (prior to marriage if it needs pointing out!). It's battered and bruised and currently sitting under my deck feeling sorry for itself, but I take him out now and again just to remind me what a sucker for pain I am!

Previous bikes have been various single seat Ducati's and Aprilia's used for track days and Nurburgring trips, but age (which translates to fear) and the practicalities of marriage means 2-seats for me now.

And I often window-shop on eBay for an old Triumph and Norton - one day!

Hang loose!!
Greg
