Question Newby John

Hi Folks. Been a jag user/enthusiast for 10 years - since my son left home. But now i need help. my 2nd XJ has died on me. 2 probs. Fiirstly the throttle body sensor issue - more of that later, but to compound the problem I can't start it. Its the old problem of 'don't switch off' before its warmed up or you'll not restart it'. Well, inadvertently I did! Canyone tell me the the procedure to get it going again? I have at least re-charged the battery.

Welcome to the forum John,

That's not a good way to begin the Bank Holiday.

Sometimes just starting on the ignition key with the throttle fully depressed will get it going. More often it's plugs out, dry them off, inject a few cc's on oil into the bores, spin the motor very briefly to coat the oil onto the cylinder bores again, then replace the plugs.

Follow this link XJ ( X308 ) XJ8 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X308 section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

You may also like to visit the UK Region section by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-68/ to find other members in this country.

Enjoy the forum.
