Hi everyone, Just got into the Jag world by picking up a 2004 XKR convertible, was looking for a project car to do but couldn't find one. I decided to go for the Jag and it appears it's going to turn out to be a project after all, after two days of driving it the drivers door started to get hard to close. Figured the hinges were bad, as I've heard this is a common problem on the Jag, but after checking it out, found that the door metal around the lower hinge has torn and allowed the door to sag inward on the bottom. Will have to pull the door to see if I can repair it or start looking for another door, welcome to the world of Jag's,HA Anyway I'm a retired military sub-sailor with nothing but time on his hands and love working cars no matter what make they are. Have built several street rods, restored a few classics and now looking forward the enjoying the Jag. Great forum and I am sure a bunch of great car guy's on it, looking forward to picking your brains now and again.

Welcome to the forums rackets351,

Good to have you with us.

I can see you've followed where I moved your post about this issue to the XK8/XKR forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/u...r-atlantic-66/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Hello,
Your first thought might be right. When doors start to sag, the first place to look is the hinge.
As your car is 16 years old it's not surprising it would have this problem. I'm not familiar with that exact model, but I do hope the hinge (or whatever is wrong with the door) is easily repaired and you can DRIVE THE WHEELS OFF!!

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
