Hello Everyone!
Happy to be a part of this forum! I have a 1977 XJS that I purchased in 1986. It has 120,000km on it. originally Silver with red interior. It is now suffering from old age ( not unlike its owner) and is due for a restoration. I currently have the drivers floor removed, prepping to weld in new one and discovered the radius arm mounts are rusted as well. No one said this was going to be a quick job! I'm hoping to find some guidance and advice moving forward!

Or maybe just to hear that I am crazy to restore it in the first place

Welcome.

Nope, not crazy. They are rare, and $$ value is climbing, albeit slowly, it is there.

Good luck.

No one here, especially in our XJS section, will tell you it's a crazy idea to restore one of these cars. In fact, they'll probably nominate you for a medal!

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
