Please don't delete me
Hi everyone! I'm Dave, I've bought my 2001 x308 XJR back in feb of this year, it's only got 69k miles on it and I think it's great. It's in Carnie Red and I'm based in Bristol UK. So far I've only had to replace two tyres and fix an annoying rear view mirror rattle. Planned work list starts with resolving the dry bearing noise I get on start up - I'm hoping is a simple belt and tensioner job and also confirm the timing chain tensioners / replace to ph3 jobbies. Rgds
Welcome to the forum Dave,
Check the XJ ( X308 ) XJ8 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum for help and advice. Doesn't pay to ignore tensioners on the V8.
Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

If you haven't done so already you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

Anyway a warm welcome to this splendid forum from an ex Westbury-on-Trym lad (a long long time ago)
As Graham said, check out those tensioner posts on your sub-forum, apparently things can get expensive very quickly if the piston going up meets the valve going down.
