Just a note to introduce myself. I was born and bought up a mile from Brown's Lane. Always wanted an XJ, now I've got my classic x300, at 63000 miles, one owner from new. Good condition. I'm bound to want technical help, and thought I'd join. At 15 years old it's sure to break at some point, and in fact I'm currently having trouble with the alarm system. More of that later.

Welcome to the forum Richard,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

It was a shame to see Brown's Lane go - so much history from wartime Spitfire production to the XJ8.

Follow this link XJ X300 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X300 forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the UK Region forum by following this link UK - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in this country.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Thanks to you all for the welcome. I sorted my alarm fault by reading the owner's manual. I had thought the alarm set with a beep, but the alarm is set with ...no beep. I shall endeavour to read things properly next time. I think the boot (trunk) lid wasn't shut properly. Thanks again, it was the forum that gave me the clue. Rich
