Rose Bronze 1995 VdP

Rose Bronze 1995 VdP
My late wife always wanted a jag, and back in 1997 she got a 1995 red VandenPlas coming off lease. When she passed away I inherited it. After a couple of years the body was rotting and the front end needed a major overhaul; it just wasn't worth it. So I donated it to Car Talk.
It so happened that my (non-dealer) mechanic had just finished cleaning up a rose bronze '95 VdP with premium sound to give to his son. His son didn't want it (I told the father he really should have a talk with his son). So I picked it up.
I find it very interesting that the two cars share electrical quirks, the worst one being that when you push a seat memory button the steering wheel goes all the way down and so does the left outside mirror.
But I do love it, and hope to drive it for several more years. I replaced the radio with a Sirius/HD/Pandora/USB/Aux/Bluetooth model and it's pretty slick. There is a little rot around the edges of the rear wheel wells. Well, this is the Boston area, so there's salt all over the place. Of course it's tough in the snow but 150 pounds of sand in the trunk helps.
No pictures, it's too dirty right now.
(And I still miss my '96 tan XJS... someone cut me off on 495 and that was the end).

Welcome to the forum Jon,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
I can see you've already found your way to X305 tech forum which is the correct one for your model. You will also find useful information and help in X300 tech forum for things other than powertrain. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
You can also visit the USA North East Region forum by following this link USA North East - ME NH VT MA RI CT NJ NY PA - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
