Angry Shortest Jag ownership !

Hi all

Im Dave from London. Always wanted a Jag from the 60s and 70s when the MK II jags were common.

But !!

Spent last 2 months selecting a car. Found a 2007 S Type XS which is a bit basic in the toys but in very good condition. Picked it up yesterday, came out this morning to go to work and parking brake fault !!!!

Dealer collecting it tomorrow but right now I dont want to be a Jag owner. Is this a record only done 20 miles home.

So I might end up being the record holder for being the shortest duration owner !

Gutted.

Dave, welcome to the site and to Jag ownership. If a simple thing like a parking brake fault has actually put you off owning the car, best ask for your money back now. Alternatively, you can find the process for resetting the EPB unit here on the site, next time (if there is one) simply reset it yourself instead of calling the main dealer.

Default Thanks.

Many thanks guys for the welcome.

Yes, it was tongue in cheek about being the shortest jaguar ownership but it was disappointing on the first day to be off the road.

I did try all the resetting threads I found here and and on other sites including recharging the battery and disconnecting the module but no joy. the mechanic they sent gave up after two hours and took the car away to fix.

Thanks again for all the advice and look forward to using the forum in a more positive way

Welcome to the forum Dave,

Not the best introduction to Jaguar ownership for you but better to breakdown at home than on the M25!

Check the 'HOW TO' thread at the top of the S-Type tech section https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...-guides-41364/ for regular issues.

Hope the S-Type is soon back with you and running reliably.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham

Welcome to the forum Dave.

EPBs and I are not the best combination, give me a yank on handbrake anytime, I don't even get on too well with Merc foot operated fly off PBs from way back.

Hope you get the thing reset at no cost.

Good to see you.
