Welcome to the Forums.

I will add you to the South Australia Roll Call in a few minutes.

My Black S Type had that, and it turned out to be the long plastic dash top section between the demister vents. They crack, and generally fall apart, and rattles are common from them.

The Silver one had it from the LH air bag cover.

Maybe some more suggestions in the S Type Tech Section.

Good luck

Hello,
There's nothing more annoying than a Rattle in an otherwise silent car, is there! I hope you locate it soon and deal with it.

thankyou to those warm welcomers;s-type owner, LnrB, Sklimii, daf11e, 07xjr. & Norri for that valuable navigating link. my s type was made in late 99, & first registered in 2000.the wood veneer on dash is one piece. when i tried to remove it recently, only the glovebox end came free,it has a curved end that tucks into the left sidevent. i could not see any clips studs etc, in fact it looks like it is glued in. has anyone had experience with this please. i did not remove it any further ,firstly cause i dont know what im doing, secondly i didn't want to break anything. any info on this situation will be appreciated.🏖️

Does anyone know how to remove the dash veneer & air vents please. YouTube video showing how to is on a left hand drive different model. Mine is a 2000 model S-Type. The veneer is one piece from left air vent to right edge of speedo facia. I'm still wanting to eliminate the vibration/rattle on rough roads and there's a lot of those!

Your post was automatically locked for moderation. Content look OK so it must be the smiley which I've now removed.

You should post the question in S-Type forum. Members with the same model will be able to explain the procedure for RHD veneer removal.
