thinking Jag

New to the site. Looking at a 03, X type, 2.5, auto. I also own a MINI Cooper and am loving these British cars! Does anyone know how to get Jaguar to look at a VIN to see what the cars history is?

I just got a 03 X Type 2.5. 37K for 14,999. It has been 2 weeks so far so good. Someone said you can call Jaguar give them last 6 digits of the VIN # and they can tell you what services have been done as well as TSBs

Hey there bluedawg and welcome............re the Vin and history. If you're really stuck there's a great guy on here called Jagmaster who may be able to help. I'm sure if you ask him nicely he'll see what he can do for you.

Well I went ahead and took the plunge! Got me a silver, 2.5, Xtype, 5 speed. 6000 miles! Feels great and looks great!

Hello All, I am a new Jaguar owner. I have just purchased a 97 XK8 Coup that has 46K miles on it and it is sweet! It is beautiful both inside and outside and I have not felt the raw power it producesin a car since I drove mussle cars as a teenager in the late 60s and early 70s. I am absolutely tickled pink with my JAG and hope to benifit from all the threads on this site to help me keep her looking and running great.

Aren't mini coopers german? Doesn't bmw own them, or are they just a german owned british car company, liek jaguar is american.

The current Mini Coopers have a lot of BMW mechanicals. The current car was developed by the Rover Group, and BMW kept the Mini after divesting itself of Rover in 2000. The cars are built in Oxford in England. I own a 2003 Cooper (in addition to a 1999 XJ8). The thing is a blast to drive. In the States, select BMW dealers sell and service them.
