tie rod/sway bar/ minnor tranny
had my jag at the dealer today 2005 s type 96000km for oil change plus 130 point inspection, the guy comes and gets me to look at tie rod driver side bushing didn't think it was that bad but little bit of grease leaking out the end, also shows me back of tranny where the drive shaft hooks up says the seal is gone, yes was a little wet but not dripping. is it true you have to realign the car after replace the tie rod.? then tells me about 1300 plus tax to fix.

Welcome to the forum.
Good to see you.
Well if you are doing it yourself, you can count the thread turns when removing and then use the same number of turns when replacing.
But if you have a newish set of tyres, I would get it properly aligned, the cost of the tyres far outweighs the cost of alignment.
I guess 1300 includes the oil seal? If not, I'm packing my passport.
The S type section is the place to go.
