Default Transmission problem

Hello everyone; I have a 1988 XJ6 Vanden Plas with trans problem, I posted this a long time ago and received some great help, however I cannot now find the info. Transmission working perfect then without any warning just stopped as if put in neutral. Fluid looks good and full. Does anyone know of anything I need to check before assuming I need a new trans.
One reply suggested taking off the fluid pan and checking something HELP
Thanks
Bunchy

Hi bunchy:
First, welcome to the forum. You will want to post in your problem in the XJ40 section, where you are sure to get some pointers. There are a lot of things to be considered before dropping the pan, etc. To get things started, let us know whether your transmission warning light is on.

Best of luck!
Scott

Thanks
