Default Trunk light switch

My trunk lights stay on when the trunk is closed and go off when the trunk is fully open. That switch on the latch seems to only activate the trunk ajar caution light. Any one experienced this before?

Welcome to the forum janetbob,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Luggage compartment lock and light issues can often be due to a a break in the harness where it is fastened to the hinge. Members with the same model will be able to offer more advice.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj-x300-xjr-26/ to the X300 forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

I had to Google Penetanguishene to find out about the
"land of the white rolling sands". You can visit the Canada Region forum by following this link Canada - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.
