Hello everybody my name is Bob from Connecticut. I finally convinced my wife into letting me buy an F type. I’m just not sure if I should go for the V8 S type or if I would be happy with the V6 380 hp model. I have only driven the V8 S type, and was very impressed with it. Can someone tell me if there is a huge difference between the power, the comfort, or ride of the vehicle between the V-6 and V-8?

Welcome to the forums Bob,

You will inevitably find vociferous opinions and recommendations here for both variants. Ultimately it comes down to which you prefer and the only way to find out is to drive both.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ed-v8-x200-15/ to the F-Type forum for help, advice and information. You can also use the US Northeast Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-northeast-35/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Welcome to the Forums.

Agreed, drive both versions, and not just around the block, a decent jaunt is the only way.

Good luck.

Hello, Bob,
Choices are painful, aren't they. There's always that nagging fear that you've chosen the wrong one and you'd like the Other one better.

I agree with Graham and Grant above; you need to DRIVE both versions for a couple days if you can before you plunk down your hard earned. Buying a car like this is mostly about Emotion, and sometimes the "silliest little thing" will make you spend a Lot of money, Logic be Hanged.
You'll know when you find it.
I wish you success.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
