Undocking the SMart key
My 2011 XF had a dead battery---I tried to gave it a boast ---and it requested I dock the smart key---I put key in its slot---car still does not start---BUT--now--the smart key will NOT release from the centre console compartment---suggestions???
I think I need a new battery---but--I would like to boast it to get to the repair shop---but--the dash now reads REMOVE SMART KEY--in order to attempt to start---
any suggestions?? Lou

Greetings Lou and welcome to JF.
Your introduction done, head over to the specific sub-forum for your model/year Jaguar, as advised by Jim and Grant. Our gurus there will help you . . . far more useful than the ATM that gobbles up your credit card if you enter the wrong password code . . . although a car that gobbles up your key is not my idea of "smart". Is your Owners Manual no help? Look through the Sticlies at the top of the XF forum.
ITMT, great to have you aboard.
Cheers and best wishes,

Hello, Lou,
I'm sorry your kitty is feeling poorly. It's always upsetting when stuff doesn't work properly.
I hope that key problem is resolved soon.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
