Valet Mode stuck cant open boot with key flat tyre
Hi everyone, I have a 2000 XJ8 Exec with a puncture!! I can't open the boot as it says in valet mode, I have both keys but the black key will only turn a quarter in the boot lock not the full 90 degs like it says in the handbook. Pressing the valet button just gives a beep. I think I've tried everything, locking and unlocking with the key, the fob buttons don't appear to work - I just get a beep, using internal boot release - a beep and valet mode etc! Have looked through the forums but can't find an answer - can't take to dealer as flat tyre, can't change tyre as can't get into boot! I've had the car about a month and the only thing that was temperamental was the central locking fob - just figured it was the battery and sometimes the fuel cap wouldn't open but starting up and off a couple of times solved this one. Please help me to get to spare wheel!
Hi Norri, thanks I hope I can find the answer on here, its a great site and I've found all sorts of useful info on the not so reliable XJ8 - beautiful car but will take some major upkeep I think
