Default water leak 2000 s-type

well with my new toy i had to make sure I had a complete spare tire kit. To my surprise I found water in the spare tire well. So the chase was on. At first it looked like the water was coming in from around the right vent so I removed the vent after partiality removing the bumper cleaned it all up and glued the vent in. Drove the car to work the next day in the rain and found more water in the right quarter panel. Now I'm getting serious I pulled out both quarter trim panels spare tire cover got the garden hose out and started blasting the under side of the car. Working my way up the car I found water pouring in the right wheel arch. Yah I found the source of my water. Being an autobody repair technician I injected expanding foam from the dogleg all the way to the rear of the wheel arch and also injected seam sealer between the quarter panel and outer wheel house. When I was drying the car out I could see light coming in from the out side. I also noticed that there is only one spot weld n the top of the arch and no metal bond in the remaining wheel arch. I guess something the factory forgot. All good now that my little s type is water tight.
All is good with my dry jaguar
Richard

Hello Richard and welcome to the forum.

There is often other places for water to get into as well. In the S Type FAQ there is a thread that addresses them. BTW very common.

Enjoy all the site has to offer!

Welcome to the forum,

Good to have you with us.
Water in the boot is a common fault, the rear lights are another of the usual leak suspects.

If you haven't already done so you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

Welcome to the forum.

Good to see you.

Glad that you got it sorted, it's when you get unexplained yellowish water around the driver's seat area, that you need to seek specialist advice.
