Hello all.. Just came upon this forum and decided to sign up. I have a 2004 Jaguar X-Type 2.5 with the manual trans. I have had it for a few years now and I love it. I live in Queens NY and purchased the car @ Great Neck Jaguar, a great dealership/service center.

The awd badge was on the car when I purchased it from the dealer.. Come to think of it I have seen a few x-types without the badge. I always thought they just took them off.

I've seen lots of the AWDs on 04s plus but not on an 02/03. Maybe they do not have them uintil then?
Jim - just finishing with minus 15C degrees and about a foot of snow today. Supposed to go to +10C degrees within the next two days. With the road sanding/melting/slushing, etc I'll be able to grant your wish for a dirty picture.

Ah, the AWD badge. The X-Type was originally only available in all wheel drive, so no badge was needed yet I'm sure people have added them. Then in 03 they came out with a front drive only version along with the diesel. This would not be noticed by us in the US since they never imported the front drive version of the car nor any of the diesels. But that is why all post 03 X's have the badge.
