well i finally done it...
got my first jag!!
thanks to the advice you guys gave, and plenty of homework i ended up with a '95 xj6. she's silver, white interior and sharp as a tack. single owner, sold and serviced faithfully at imperial motors of wilmete, and a shade under 68k miles (grandma's grocery-getter, i reckon).
couldn't be more excited. i've always admired the cars but just figured they were totally unattainable... apparently not the case. so hopefully with a pedigree like i found, i should be able to enjoy the car for years and years to come...
so that's it. many thanks for the advice!!!

hey giraffe, glad you found the perfect cat for you! Can't wait to see some pictures of her, and hope you'll stick around to share in the fraternity that comes with jag ownership. Try THAT with a toyota... I think not
another welcome to you and your new ride.

oh yeah, i'll be around. just hopefully not too much in the repairs advice section... i married into a huge jaguar loving family (which of course has only dumped some fuel on the cat fire) and it really does appear to take a special breed to truly appreciate such cars... now if only i can find my father-in-law's old '56 xk140 for him, life will be grand. he'll have to pay for it, though. lord knows i don't have that kinda scrilla.

it's like a silvery powdery-blue color i can't quite pin down... also, it's some kinda select edition.. it appears to have all the toys of a vanden plas, just no wood wheel or picnic trays... go figure. well crap. see previous page for the pics ...
From the look at this 96 brochure the color is Ice Blue... Here is a link.

It is a global brochure and is a year newer but may help you figure out what is standard and what was optional in your car. I don't think they changed very much from 95 to 96. But then again, I'm no expert when it comes to the XJ.

I just got my first Jaguar too. And I'm just as excited as you! I also have a 1995 model. It's the Sovereign, 4 ltr automatic. Been valeted every month since registaration! I just posted a couple of pictures (photoshopped for impact!). A more graceful car in the world? Maybe, but not many!! A timeless classic.
