Default XJ40 Radiator Grille Vanes

Hi, I have an unusual question....I have a 1994 Jaguar XJ40 (Vanden Plas/Daimler) in the US and need to find the "chrome grille vane inserts" for my car. Now, based on my VIN 693XX, my car is an XJ40, BUT, when I've needed parts from Jaguar Heritage, I end up haveing to get X300 parts, i.e. steering wheel and airbag, lamps, etc. Can someone please explain since I need to find vanes for the grille but the man at JagHeritage keeps refering X330 for the "chrome" vanes. Follow? One solution is that I just order vanes from an older model, i.e. 1990 -93. Thanks!!

By the way "having" not "haveing". Sorry.

Welcome to the forum,

Good to have you with us.
This is the welcome area, you would be best to post your question in the X300 section
Just joking! Go to the XJ40 section and ask.

If you haven't already done so you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

Hi, I am trying really hard to enjoy this and proceed, but, I'm ready to leave this site for good. Can you please help? I went through the new member areas and was encourgaed to add photos to my garage, post a question/comment, add cars to my signature, BUT everytime I get this "JagClipper747, you do not have permission to access this page." Can you help? I've logged on and off several times to ensure that I'm "on" yet the same road block. Thanks, Ken

Welcome to the forum.

Good to see you.

Your problem stemmed from your Newness. We have a restriction placed on New members to help in the fight against spam.

I think that you are now good to go.

If your hood is flat with large rectangular headlights it is an XJ40, if it has curves in the hood and circular headlights then X300. Could be that you are right on the crossover.

Default X300

Oh, I am very familiar with the difference between the two models, my post was refering to the trouble I was having with the Jaguar heritage site to get parts. They tell me that I need X300 parts for my XJ40. The grilles are very different in shape but they say that's the vane I need. I did have to get an X300 steering wheel for my XJ40 when the airbag expired. Also, some vanes are listed as grey and I needed chrome. They told me that there is no chrome vane on my car only grey. The car was bought brand new with factory installed chrome vanes. I have a Vanden Plas. I'll keep trying around. Maybe ebay. Thanks for your reply.
